Grace and reality in the modern age

-

Today, in the midst of a chaotic global situation, we are facing a more subtle and seemingly harmless crisis. Volumes of information are flooding us constantly through the media, challenging what we see, what is real or fake, truth versus lies. That infiltration is not just from the world. It is also manifested in our religious concepts and practices, deviating us fundamentally from the source of reality, which is Christ. So when we read the Bible, pray, or go to a meeting, it’s easy for us to talk about doctrine or to perform religiously without engaging with Christ in our spirit.

While the world and religion lead us to mimic what is real, the Lord gave us a precise way. The book of John says clearly, “grace and reality came through Jesus Christ.” (1:17). Reality is God realized by man. The Lord is a Person. He is “the Word that became flesh” full of truth and reality to be made known to us in experience as grace. Today, we find that realization happening in us through fellowship with His words. The more we take Him in through His words, the more clearly we can see and say “no” to the falsehoods of the world and religion. Today, Christ, the Word, is becoming flesh — full of grace and reality — in us. It is through this realization process that we are saved from the deceit of this generation. Let us gain the real humanity — Christ becoming our reality today.
